The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Someone PLEASE tell me you have read it. Please? I'm going kind of insane not having anyone to chat to about it.
Two people have made fanmixes on Livejournal but I feel slightly insane messaging random people going "OMGZ BE MY FRIEND AND LISTEN TO ME RAMBLE ABOUT SHIT, 'KAY?" Because you guys put up with that but not everyone does XD
Love you for putting up with it, though <3

I haven't read it yet. I'm still getting through Eclipse! XD Then I'll most likely be reading Breaking Dawn when it comes out. So perhaps after that I will find me a copy and read it.
Re: The Host by Stephenie Meyer
I can forgive you if you read Breaking Dawn St Louis Lauren has reserved a copy for me, WHOOOO. So I shall be getting it then! Yippee!
Re: The Host by Stephenie Meyer
I would rather slide down razor blades into a pool of lemon juice instead of reading anything by Stephanie Meyer. No offence, of course.
Re: The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Oh, you don't want to encourage me to read these books.
Because you know I will end by treating them with the same respect that I would a Lockhart book.
Well, maybe with a bit more respect- but that's not saying much, no that's not saying much...

Ah, I do so love the smell of sarky in the morning...

Hahaha. Leave our n00b alone
I haven't opened my copy in at least two weeks. Stupidly I'm proud of that, because I couldn't put it down when I first got home XD
...ahhh dear. There are even some awesome fanmixes for it on Livejournal now. The awesomeness that is Livejournal... <3

Hilary - I (and many other fangirls) adored the Twilight series and fell in love with Edward Cullen. And I proudly state that I am personally ANTI-JACOB because Jacob is a manipulative bitch XD
ANYWAY. They are awesome and the next installment comes out in August I believe, in the US. Lauren-in-St-Louis has preordered a copy for me so I'm all happy. I don't know when it comes out in the UK (and I think getting it in America probably IS cheaper at this rate haha).
The Host is a story which on the surface is all about an alien invasion of Earth but when you get down to it, is really about what it means to be human. It's just awesome. I have reread it countless times since getting it on my way back from Wrockstock. If you get the chance, I'd advise that you read it, with an open mind

I will probably read it at some point, I've always had a bit of a 'thing' for vampires I just don't have the time at the moment, another essay due the Tuesday after Accio Wrock my busiest weekend of the month So I probably should be doing the reading for it now! Also I'm currently reading Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches stories as a friend lent me the first one and I already owned the second and third ones although hadn't read them! I was tempted to get Twilight the other day as I have some Waterstones vouchers but the new paperback Kelley Armstrong - No Humans Involved was on a three f
for two offer and Twilight wasn't, rubbish so I got Dissolution - C. J. Sansom and The Book Thief - Markus Zusak instead. I may get Twilight out of the library though. I'll keep you posted if I do

I was struggling to think of a good way to describe the book! I will have to steal this line. i really cant be bothered to find the quote button today.

Re: The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Just to add in my 2-cents-worth, I completely hated what part of Twilight I read. It offends nearly all my sensibilities as not only somebody who loves books, but somebody who is also an author. It really did my head in.
As far as The Host being better than Twilight? That really wouldn't take much effort at all.

Oh, meow
I know we argued about this earlier XD I really enjoyed Twilight, though. So I shan't say anything.

Re: The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Edward is rubbish! Jacob forever. Yeah, he's a manipulative bitch, but at least that's a personality I'll say this for Edward, he made me appreciate James Potter a lot more
Re: The Host by Stephenie Meyer
I started Twilight this morning, so far so good (apart from a grammatical error on page five but I'm picky like that!)

YOU'RE MY HERO. Ditto here, guys. Twilight basically stabbed young adult literature in the face. I read the series, wanting to like the books because all of my friends said it was so great and I really tried to like it. I TRIED.
All I got from the Twilight Series was too many Mary Sues, a way-to-cliche plot, unrealistic character choices, and three days of me saying, "Well, maybe the next book will be better."
It never was.
BUT! My friend Maddie says that Stephanie Meyer's grammar improved dramatically in the Host. So, the Host might actually be readable.
One thing's for sure:
JKROWLING proved that young Adult books can be over 500 pages. STEPHANIEMEYER proved that some shouldn't.
