Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
I didn't join last year, but I have this year and I'm really rather excited abut it. I picked up the DatM EP from last year at Wrockstock - it's quickly become one of my favourite wizard rock albums/EPs ever. Semi-serious DatM with static and violins? OH I AM SO THERE. So - who else has joined? What have been your favourites? What ones are you really really looking forward to? etc etc
Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
...I need to join it this year.
But first I need to see if I have the monies first.
And then, we shall see.

Catchloves EP is fantastic so is Gred and Forges. I loved Kreachers Lament off JFFs too. Um what I'm looking forward to...The Nifflers definitely
Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
The Mudbloods EP is seriously amazing, obviously.
My favourite from alst year was The Parselmouths, by far. I love those girls, and its such a good EP.
This year I am so so so so so looking forward to The Nifflers EP, because, did I ever tell you how much I love and adore and fangirl the Nifflers?!

Oh yeah, the Parselmouths' "Illegal Love Potion" totally ftw. Amazingness!!! <3 I played "Who Are These Boyz?" on constant repeat for a bit XD
Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
JFF's was my fave so far until I heard The Mudbloods EP.
*looks for the jaw dropped emoticon*
I may never write another song again. Because none of them would come CLOSE to the songs on that CD.
Truly amazing. Join the club just for the Mudbloods EP.

Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
I was a member last year and this year. Best wrock decision I've made. ^_^
Favorite last year... oh man... it's between Harry and the Potters (Harry Potter - "This is Harry Potter, take one..." XD) ... Draco and the Malfoys... GatHB... The Parselmouths... The Remus Lupins (Fated is by far my favorite wrock song... this week XD) ... yeah, those were my favorites last year.
I love the first 3 cds... seriously amazing. I didn't buy the 3 eps that are the next shipment while at Wrockstock, since I'm a member... but BOY was I tempted. Mudbloods, Gred and Forge... those and The Basilisk in Your Pasta are the ones I'm most looking forward to... mostly bc they're the only ones I really know about besides the ones I already got... I'm purposefully avoiding... so I don't drive myself crazy waiting for the mail... like I do when I pre-order cds. Last Summer the mailman got tired of seeing me. We actually talked, and he'd say, "No cds today, Danielle" -.- ... maybe that's weird. >.> I live in a suburb? *walks away*

Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
I am looking forward to the Mudbloods EP so so so much (I joined late... but it'll all get sent, right?). I got the G&F one at Wrockstock because I didn't know if I was going to join the club yet and it is AWESOME.

Yup, no matter how late you join, you'll get all the discs.

+100 for The Hermione Crookshanks Experience disc. Wow. Probably one of the more emotional discs I've had the pleasure of listening to.

Totally agree Penelope just brought tears to my eyes there's a sort of lost scared feeling to the track. She's one of the first wrock bands I listened too, just amazing vocals

I was driving when I heard the CD for the first time. As soon as I realized what "So Long and Goodbye" was about, well... let's just say I had a wee bit of trouble seeing where I was driving. Heartbreakingly beautiful.
Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
I didn't sign up for it last year. I really wanted to, but just couldn't afford it. I did however win The Remus Lupins EP from wizrocklopedia! And it is SO awesome! So that makes me happy! XD At least I have 1 from last year.
I wasn't going to sign up this year either, but oddly enough I had exactly $60 left from Wrockstock. A sign, perhaps? haha So last weekend, I handed the money to Matt and told him to sign me up. XD Now I amimpatiently waiting and staring at the mailbox for them to arrive.

Wait... wait... WHAT?
Jenn, you're gonna have to send it my way darling!
Please?
Pretty please?
With a Werewold on top?
Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
Ahhhh the songs from the Mudbloods EP are up on their myspace, I am now dying with impatience to get my EPs! Also, on the verge of tears over even the non-acoustic versions of them, I'm a big weepy girl today.

Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
Yay more EPs! I LOVE the Gred and Forge EP. Ah-mazing. Still my absolute favorite band right now. The Mudbloods is also amazing. I just got my EPs loaded on my iPod on Monday, haven't had time to listen to the Hermione-Crookshanks Experience EP yet... I can't wait. ^_^
Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
I'm a part of the Club (I'm ACTUALLY a part of it, haha, but a lot fo you already know that). I have to say that HatCE EP was absolutely, hands down my favorite. But, it ALL depends on what you're into as far as musical style. Her EP was very ballad-y and soft with a few instrumental songs in there just for kicks, whereas Catchlove threw down these heavy, loud songs that are fun to listen too but are very busy with a lot of backing tracks, strong percussion and accompanying voices. It's an incredible EP, though, so it really does depend on your tastes.
Gred and Forge had a very guitar dominant CD, which included the "Fred, George, and Myrtle" hit. Jarrod's CD was funny and the tracks were very catchy and sing-along.
Justin's EP was incredibly synth-heavy, with very poppy, jumpy beats. I felt that some of the songs were a little bit repetitive, but I also kind of like that about him. It was easy to teach my niece some of his songs and now she loves wizard rock. He's great though, and the live versions of the songs on this EP KICK ASS. So, it's definitely worth learning all the words.
The Mudbloods, I guess I might as well review them, too. Their EP had some really sick guitar playing. The songs were pretty funny, too. I love the song, "Zombies". Haha. Okay, this EP kick ass, guys. seriously.
As for the Gryffindor Common Room Rejects, I'm a bit disappointed at how our EP turned out. We were really pressed for time so I know that almost all of our songs could've turned out better. like we based too much of our CD of Synthesized beats and not raw piano/guitar. Our most well-recieved song, and the one Shawn likes best, is "The Moon and Stars". Unfortunately, every time I listen to it, I hear the flaws in my voice and the irritating, repetitive piano. We're rerecording it for our new CD, so I hope it gets better. My favorite song on the EP is "The Wisdom of Luna" which is just about how adorable Luna is and I love the piano on top of the flowing, tinkling backing track.
Whoa. WALL OF TEXT.

Re: Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club
It was nice getting a bundle of 6 cds in the mail! Even though the mailman was stupid and tried to shove them through my door slot and got them stuck.
So far my favourite would definitely have to be The Mudbloods. I can't stop listening to it. Sooo good! But next in line with a very close second would have to be the Gred and Forge one. Just amazing! I can't wait for the rest!
